So, the cheapest and best I have found is to shake the copper-BB and 2 or three cups of gas and the whole day. I pull my petcock. It takes some time, but the alternative is to take it in a shop and pay for them to acid wash. clean upon arrival, if necessary, and maintain a full tank or take it with cream. I guess I'm talking about rust, but gas and BB will also deal with the mess. In addition, make sure that the petcock is clean and put a filter between the tank and carbs.
Fill half full of clean gravel and paint in a shaker.
